– The state of the world has a lot of us thinking and Bama-bred Hip-Hop artist, Horus Gump, is no different. Fresh off of his May single, “Prevail”, Horus gives us just the kind of music we need right now with his latest offering, “Weight of Generations”.
As one of the most impressive talents to come out of Alabama, Horus Gump certainly takes the cake as the hardest repping. References to his hometown or country living aren’t uncommon in his music, however, the weight (no pun intended) of his latest single gives a bit more perspective on his appreciation for his beginnings and how it relates to where his journey will end.
“Weight of Generations”, produced by Fresco Phoenix, features a hypnotic piano loop that I would imagine had an herb-loving wordsmith like Horus Gump foaming at the mouth. This would only be right to assume, based on how fluidly Horus complemented the production by not only nonchalantly performing lyrical gymnastics, but also by sitting us down for “story time” as he schooled us on days past as it pertains to the future health and wealth of his family and culture.
