— Following the release of his 6-track EP, Half Dozen, D.O.U.G.H. links up with fellow Tennessee native, Z. Smith for his latest single, “Last Dance”.

If you missed ‘The Last Dance’ docuseries this past spring, along with the hysteria that followed, you might have quarantined a little too hard. But, if you were glued to the series like most of us, you’d know that a major topic that arose was Scottie Pippen’s rookie contract negotiations. It goes without saying that the young Scottie was grossly underpaid and, thus, felt undervalued by his team — a sentiment that D.O.U.G.H. clearly understands and vows to avoid.

In his latest Z. Smith-produced loosie, D.O.U.G.H. gets straight to the point,  opening with the line, “Last Dance… Feelin’ like I’m Pip. I ain’t playin’, I need mine off the rip”. He then goes on to voice his frustrations with being doubted, underrated, and even forgotten while simultaneously performing at a high level and being fully aware of his own worth. Long story short, unlike Scottie Pippen, D.O.U.G.H. won’t make the mistake of selling himself short anytime soon.
