— Atlanta-based rapper OG Twelve recruits producer and singer Éks for his latest single, “Ghetto Superhero”.
For those who don’t know, OG Twelve is a lyricist to watch out for. Making his home in Atlanta by way of Albany, the southern wordsmith has been slowly turning up the heat. First, to kick off 2021, OG Twelve delivered “Deion Sanders” — an ode to an Atlanta legend. Now, following the release of his well done “Dead Presidents” remix and the accompanying music video, OG Twelve is back with “Ghetto Superhero” featuring Éks.
OG Twelve sums up the meaning behind “Ghetto Superhero” with his opening lyrics, “Just like Batman, my money provides the power…”. Just like the fictional character, OG Twelve and his knack for acquiring wealth enables him to ‘save’ the people around him. The combination of Twelve’s biting bars and braggadocio with his uplifting message and expressed desire to elevate his community makes “Ghetto Superhero” a hit all around.
The bass-heavy production contrasted by tranquil string and flute melodies created the perfect runway for OG Twelve to lay down some heat. A smooth and catchy hook from artist/producer Éks was the finishing touch “Ghetto Superhero” needed to bring it all together.
