— Versatile artist Derrius Logan drops “FuckBoy Free”, his first release of the year and his first single off his upcoming project.

Long before Drake donned the title ‘Certified Lover Boy’, Los Angeles native Derrius Logan had been pioneering and exploring a new subgenre and movement of his own titled, ‘LoverBoy Trap’. Still, with Derrius being able to effortlessly blend elements of Hip-Hop and R&B, the rising star was able to once again innovate and create something that resonates amongst his already invested audience. Following a string of success that included having music featured on HBO’s hit show Insecure, Logan has continued to gain significant notoriety and aims to do so again with his latest single, “FuckBoy Free”.

With production credits from Edan Frei, Money Jezus, D. Sharp, and Derrius Logan himself, the vold new single, “Fuckboy Free”, is smooth R&B-led single equipped with a bouncy bassline and House music vibes.

When speaking on the meaning behind “FuckBoy Free”, Derrius explains:

“FuckBoy Free is a love song to women that know their worth. So many ‘FuckBoys’ in the world posing [as] men [that] women should be interested in, all to fuck and disappear. This song is about me loving a woman who knows the difference.”

Logan’s proficiency in Hip-Hop and songwriting in general is also on full display as he uses his clever wordplay and impeccable timing to deliver a catchy and ‘unimposingly’ addictive track.

“FuckBoy Free” is Logan’s attempt to stick to the roots of the genre that he so profoundly created and has used that as a foundation for future work — resulting in this mightily impressive single.
