— Atlanta’s own, Klassic Kell, drops his latest visual for “SOUFSIDE” off his debut album, The Klassic Tape, Vol. 1.
If you haven’t heard of Klassic Kell by now, it’s beyond time that you get familiar. Whether he’s dropping bars on our official More Bars Please series or delivering one of the greatest introductory projects Hip-Hop has seen in some time, Klassic Kell continues to show that he’s on a different tier. Now, following the late 2021 release of his incredible BOGUS CONVERSATIONS music video, he’s back with a new visual for his hometown homage record, “SOUFSIDE”.
While highlighting some of the many things that make Atlanta’s ‘Soufside’ home — such as the women, food, and ‘vibes’ — Klassic Kell is sure to go into such depth that you could never mistake him as an imposter. Name dropping prominent high schools and community landmarks, reminiscing on childhood firsts, and even reflecting on some of his hood’s less than legal activities and sinister behaviors makes Klassic Kell’s “SOUFSIDE” synonymous with his namesake amongst those who know.
The music video, directed by Jacob Rink, only further cements the greatness of the record. Starting out with a humorous discussion between Klassic Kell and a friend who has apparently never been to the ‘soufside’, the visual follows Kell as he appears in some well known locations throughout his hood. The creatively captured shots and calculated edits give the music video an intense, documentary-style feel making for an incredibly compelling viewing experience.
