— Legendary underground Hip-Hop group, Atmosphere, bring Reggae/Rop group Iration and their Sunshine & Summer Nights Tour to Atlanta, GA.

Atmosphere has been at it for quite some time, proven by the recent release of their special edition merch collection to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their debut album, God Loves Ugly. What’s even better is that they’ve only grown more, gotten better, and have continued to push quality music, great raps, and an undeniably dope message. You can even look at their latest album, WORD? (2021), and you’ll see the same as they even feature some incredibly talented, yet criminally underrated, artists like Aesop Rock, Nikki Jean, Sa-Roc, and the late great MF Doom, just to name a few. In support of this very album, Atmosphere announced that they’d be hitting the road alongside Iration, and this past week, Atlanta’s The Eastern concert venue got the pleasure of hosting a night of their Sunshine & Summer Nights Tour.

To kick off the night, the blend of Hip-Hop, Reggae, and Pop/Rock was cemented with the two opening acts. First to hit the stage was Passafire — a renowned indie Reggae/Rock band out of Savannah, Georgia. Next up was DJ Fresh and well-respected underground rapper and producer, The Grouch.

After a brief intermission to hydrate, grab some merch, and get some fresh air, Iration was the next act to hit the stage. From beginning to end, the performance was incredible and the chemistry between the band members was magical to see and hear up close and in-person.

Following Iration was the last act of the night — the one and only Atmosphere. Comprised of DJ/producer Slug and rapper Ant, the chemistry and ferver between the duo was as clear as day and matched that of any larger group or band despite their numbers. Still, even with Ant manning the vocals solo, his masterful stage presence and crowd control was felt by every member of the audience, having us all on a metaphoric string. Combined with his ability to recite his verbose rhymes bar for bar in front of an intense crowd while also leaving room for witty dialogue and dramatic pauses, Atmosphere’s live show is a must-see experience.
