— Rapper and chef, DropOut Finn, shares his latest single, “Mine”, featuring fellow Atlanta-based lyricist Boy Lucca.

For those who aren’t familiar with DropOut Finn, you’re doing yourself a disservice. The talented newcomer, leader of DropOut Club, and respected fusion chef has an incredible work ethic and deploys it in more ways than one — even making an appearance on episode 41 of our More Bars Please freestyle series last year. Now, following the release of his 5-track EP Dirty South Angel, this past May, DropOut Finn is back with a new single, “Mine”, featuring Boy Lucca.

Produced by Yukibeats, the tone is set from the jump. The song starts off with an ominous chant that’s sure to make your skin crawl before introducing trunk-shaking 808s coupled with a snapping snare and flittering hi-hats.

First to lay their verse was DropOut Finn himself as he took the reins and set the bar sky high with an incredibly dynamic verse. Not a single word was wasted as DropOut Finn pops his shit in immaculate fashion by delivering witty one-liners, making bold proclamations about his trajectory, and stepping all over his competition in the process. He then proceeds to perform one of the more clever and catchy hooks we’ve heard this year as he raps,

“I don’t care who you been f*ckin’, just tell ‘em it’s mine.

I don’t care who said he got it ‘cause n*ggas be lyin’.

I don’t care who on the song, he still gettin’ fried.

I don’t care if he don’t like me, I know he gon’ try it.”

Boy Lucca follows up and fails to disappoint as he dances all over the production with a bouncy, mesmerizing flow. Still, despite Lucca’s captivating delivery, his crafty wordplay may be even more impressive as he injects every bar with a heavy dose of his lethal lyrical prowess.
