— In preparation of his upcoming album, PremeHeem releases a new freestyle video over Future and Drake’s “Wait for You” instrumental.
Throughout the years, Georgia-bred rapper PremeHeem has shown that he is one of the most talented lyricists coming out of Atlanta in more ways than one. Still, aside from his two appearances on episode 14 and episode 36 of our More Bars Please series, he’s been relatively quiet since releasing “The Cook Up” back in late 2020. Now, he’s reemerged with a new freestyle video as we near the release of his next project.
While “Wait For You (Freestyle)” is inspired by one of this year’s most popular songs, PremeHeem was able to take the serene instrumental — carried by Tems’ angelic vocals — and make it his own. Cleverly weaving in and out of pocket with his unrelenting flow, this is yet another showing of PremeHeem’s lyrical excellence.
Even the video, shot by Simo Haier Visuals, seems to symbolize PremeHeem’s current dominance as he overlooks Atlanta while also foreshadowing his inevitable elevation by delivering a higher quality production than any of his previous freestyles.
