— After a long six-year hiatus, Top Dawg Entertainment’s Ab-Soul has delivered the highly anticipated HERBERT and doesn’t disappoint.

Carson, CA artist Herbert Anthony Stevens IV, aka Ab-Soul, has released his first album in six years, HERBERT, via Top Dawg Entertainment. The new album boasts guest appearances from Big Sean, Russ, Joey Bada$$, Jhené Aiko, SiR, Punch, Zacari, Fre$h, Ambré, ALEMEDA and Lance Skiiiwalker along with production from DJ Premier, Sounwave, James Blake, Hit-Boy, Boi-1da, DJ Dahi, and more. Accompanying today’s release is a new video for “FOMF.”

HERBERT re-establishes Ab-Soul as a uniquely profound voice of our time and as a lyricist who is in peak form. It’s a work that is a return to his foundation, as noted by the name of the record, leaving the conspiracy theories he’s known for behind while emphasizing his musicality.

After suffering through a series of unspeakable tragedies, Stevens completed the album as a changed man with a new sense of purpose as outlined by the first single, “Do Better,” where Ab-Soul addressed the changes through an incredibly moving video based on real events.

The subsequent single, “Gang‘Nem,” produced by Sounwave, pays homage to his roots in Carson, CA, detailing where he’s from and the lifestyle he grew up around. The album also features previously released singles Hollandaise and Moonshooter, which features a newly added Joey Bada$$ verse not included on the original single release.
