— Chicago-bred musician Lance Skiiiwalker calls on his fellow TDE labelmates and multifaceted artist V.C.R for his new project, Audiodidactic.
Top Dawg Entertainment‘s alternative and lofi artist Lance Skiiiwalker has released his new project Audiodidactic — a title derived from the fact that Skiiiwalker is a self-taught musician. His first full-length release since 2016’s Introverted Intuition and first project since a pair of 2021 EP’s, Audiodidactic features words from Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul, and V.C.R.
The album arrives along with a video for “Where To With You” that premiered via Adult Swim’s Toonami page.
Originally from Chicago, Lance Skiiiwalker became a frequent collaborator and eventually signed with Top Dawg Entertainment in 2016 after being discovered by Kendrick Lamar. Described as TDE’s “secret weapon” by the label’s president Anthony “Moosa” Tiffith, his contributions include appearances on ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron (Deluxe), Jay Rock’s 90059, Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered., Isaiah Rashad’s The House is Burning, Ab-Soul’s Herbert, and more.
He released his first solo project Introverted Intuition with the label in October of 2016 and performed on TDE’s “The Championship Tour” in 2018. Later in 2021, he released EP’s Tales From The Telescope Chapter 1: Rebirth and Tales From The Telescope Chapter 2: Internal Shine.
His sound is hard to define, varying between psychedelic and alternative, with influences from jazz, hip-hop, and soul. Most recently, he’s been curating the Instagram page @Ni_Radio, filled with original content that showcases both his music and his imaginative vision.
