— Following their February single, “Wassup,” producer-rapper duo B. Cool-Aid have unveiled their latest single, “soundgood,” album tracklisting, and upcoming tour dates.
B. Cool-Aid, the enigmatic hip-hop/neo-soul duo comprised of Pink Siifu and producer Ahwlee, shares “soundgood,” the third and final offering ahead of the release of their highly anticipated upcoming album Leather Blvd., out March 31st via Lex Records. The track features serenading vocals from frequent collaborators Jimetta Rose, V.C.R., and Liv.e, who soundtracked the sun-soaked jam. Alongside the single, B. Cool-Aid unveils the album’s cover artwork and full tracklist, including all of the star-studded collaborations with friends that made the album possible like Ladybug Mecca (of Digable Planets), Big Rube, Fousheé, Mndsgn, Quelle Chris and more.
In anticipation of their long-awaited new album, B. Cool-Aid are also announcing their Live in Leather tour, with select dates across North America and Europe, including shows in Chicago, New York, LA, Paris, London, and a special performance at the Bandcamp performance space in Oakland.
Leather Blvd. encompasses the tapestry of sounds B. Cool-Aid has teased across their previous singles “Wassup” and “Cnt Go Back ( Tell Me ),” and the community of musicians that brings it to life. The album stays true to B. Cool-Aid’s signature sound, with smooth and mellow instrumentals blending jazz, soul, and hip-hop elements, while also showcasing their growth and evolution as artists. Leather Blvd. is like taking a walk down a bustling street, with a diverse cast of both established and up-and-coming artists from the B. Cool-Aid community lending their voices. In a recent episode of The FADER podcast, Siifu and Ahwlee discussed the album and their collaborative process in greater detail, building even more anticipation for what promises to be a must-listen project.
The duo’s new album follows last year’s double single titled bonded, which consisted of “COO,” co-produced by Kiefer, and “usedtoo,” featuring Jay Feeniks in addition to a video for both songs co-directed by Jacob Nadir Gray and Siifu himself. The pair of tracks marked the first official releases from B. Cool-Aid in over 3 years following their last full-length project Syrup in 2019, which Bandcamp says, “offers relief as much as it inspires deep thinking.” The duo have also maintained their long-running monthly NTS Radio residency with their show BRWN which explores “hip hop’s varied and far-reaching experimental corners.”
Check out “soundgood” above and stay tuned for more from B. Cool-Aid coming soon.
