— Rapper CashOnAble delivers his first release of 2023 and first project since 2021 with his newest album Second Quarter.
Atlanta Hip-Hop artist CashOnAble has officially begun his 2023 campaign coming off of an active and impactful 2022. Ending the year with his emphatic single, “ALL GAS,” featuring frequent collaborator and business partner Dubbygotbars, the authoritative wordsmith has returned with a new 10-track album titled, Second Quarter.
With a total runtime just under 34 minutes, Second Quarter is a concise yet hearty offering from CashOnAble complete with insightfully introspective bars and deeply passionate production and songwriting.
Already known as a prolific lyricist, CashOnAble takes things to another level on Second Quarter. While keeping the lyricism at a high level, Cash shows off his ability to make quality mainstream hits with records like “POP MY SHIT,” “PLAIN 2 SEE,” and “PESOS” while also getting a bit deeper into his R&B bag by infusing the project with catchy croons, soft melodies, and R&B vocals on tracks like “POCKET FULL OF MONEY,” “M.O.A.F.T.F,” and “THIS ONE IS FOR YOU.”
Produced by a roster of talented underground producers including frequent collaborator Chizabam along with Dopeboyzmuzic, ATL MRDA, VINO, and Que, the production of Second Quarter deserves its own flowers. Each track is a unique masterpiece with each conveying distinct messages and evoking a wide range of sentiments, from somber to uplifting, all while remaining sonically cohesive.
Featured artists on the project include Chizabam, vocalist Mary Dee, and rapper Stefanello who helps to close out the album with 2 phenomenal verses on the album’s final tracks, “GOOD OLE DAYZ” and “BOULEVARD.”
As far as subject matter goes, Second Quarter may very well be the most candid, transparent, and inspirational project we’ve ever gotten from CashOnAble. From the opening track, “GOOD MORNING,” Cash reflects, inspires, and bares his soul as he pays respects to his mother, shares the love he has for his family, details some of the hardships of fatherhood, and drops a few incredibly useful gems. As the album continues, so does Cash’s authentic delivery, gripping storytelling, and powerfully substantive messaging.
Aside from CashOnAble openly showcasing his continued growth as both an artist and human being, the 90s-born rapper injects subtle references to some of his childhood influences, even sampling Buju Banton’s hit single “Champion” and classic TV show Living Single.
All in all, Second Quarter is further evidence of CashOnAble’s undeniable talent, keen attention to detail, and unrivaled passion for music.
