Denzel Curry continues his run of collaborative singles today with the release of new single “WOO,” which finds him reuniting with Ronny J, the artist responsible for producing a number of Curry’s breakout records including 2013’s “Threatz” from Curry’s debut project Nostalgic 64 and 2015’s “Ultimate” from his 32 Zel/Planet Shrooms double EP, in addition to many others. Together the two pioneered the sound that became synonymous with 2010’s South Florida rap a sound that ultimately defined the broader wave that was coined “Soundcloud rap.”

Now, on the heels of Curry’s recent singles with Juicy J, Kenny Mason and ICECOLDBISHOP, he once again collaborates with Ronny J on a new single that finds Curry revisiting his sonic roots with the peak lyrical dexterity that he has developed over the course of multiple show-stopping, concept-driven albums released over the past 5 years.

Denzel highlights the importance of the reunion, sharing:

“The “WOO” session was good considering this is the first session Ronny J and I have done in years. We brought in Chief Pound, who’s been an essential part of ULT from its conception and having PlayThatBoiZay on the record really shows the unity in Carol City.”

With this release, Denzel continues his hot streak, amplified by his explosive mid-September single, “SKED,” which announced a new chapter in his approach to sharing his work. Denzel has pivoted towards embracing the spontaneity of his musical process in releasing music as it’s being created, sharing the creative studio spirit and his collaborators’ energy with fans in the most direct and unfiltered way to date. It’s this same innovative approach to engaging his audience that saw him successfully selling out four shows at the historic Blue Note Jazz Club last month.

“WOO” will complement the recently-released “SKED,” much like this Summer’s one-two punch of “BLOOD ON MY NIKEZ” and “ICE COLD ZEL FREESTYLE” did, as Denzel continues his onslaught of forthcoming releases.

Listen to “WOO” above now and stay tuned for more from Denzel Curry soon.
