The Blog Era

Speaking on the collaboration, Sean Brown shares,

“The blog era was a transformative and inspiring time period for A LOT of us creatively. This was around the time critics claimed the art form was dead, but we were really at the center of a cultural renaissance. We felt energized by the idea of designing products that celebrate and put emphasis on this era.”

This past summer the studio brought forth their 10-part documentary-style audio series that examined the period of time known as “The Blog Era.” With equal parts narrative and historical storytelling at its core, the two acknowledged and provided a platform for the known and unknown names that not only made a huge and lasting impact on pop culture with their contributions to this era, but created the imprint for what would later become the foundation for today’s music industry. Touching on the foregone era, the series tapped into stories that are dear to many avid music listeners, fans, historians, and critics alike. It has resulted in press acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, The New York Times, HotNewHipHop, Wired, Modern Luxury’s EDITION, Finals Blog, The Root, Cabbages, and more, spurring a revival in “blog era” coverage.

The Blog Era collection with Sean Brown offers the perfect bookend to the series, as the celebration and season comes to a close. Bridging together the archival ethos of both the podcast and Sean Brown’s creativity, the collaboration made for an ideal partnership with similar minds at its forefront, resulting in a collection that connects the story and the quintessential blog-era aesthetic.
