— Fresh from his tour alongside Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist, MIKE has announced the release of vinyl editions of his ninth studio album, Burning Desire.
The Burning Desire vinyl will be available in several editions, including the standard black, which will be available everywhere, and an exclusive red variant that can be purchased online through 10k Global. A silver edition of Burning Desire is available exclusively in-store at Rough Trade, and a green edition, exclusive to Japan, can be found at Big Love Records in Tokyo. Coinciding with the release of the Burning Desire vinyl, MIKE is sharing a new music video for the album’s title track, directed by Xin Wang.
MIKE has had a consistent Fall spent on the road following Burning Desire, including performing at both Pitchfork London and Paris festivals, as well as his run in support of Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist, which concluded earlier this week in Detroit. MIKE’s own Somebody Fine Me Trouble headline tour is set to kick off in February of the new year, with newly announced London and Berlin headline dates added to his slate. See below for the updated run of tour dates, which includes an extensive North American leg beginning in April and concluding with a hometown show at New York’s Webster Hall in May. Tickets are available at the official Burning Desire website.

Burning Desire finds MIKE, né Michael Bonema, planting his flag as the benevolent leader of a vein of hip-hop he helped pioneer. Since first emerging on the scene in underground hip-hop circles with the [sLUms] collective in 2015, he’s never strayed from his distinct brand of introspective, subtly profound rhymes that explore grief, family, and identity and melt over muffled, soul-seasoned samples. Despite being just 25, MIKE has released numerous critically acclaimed albums, including Burning Desire, earning Pitchfork’s Best New Music accolade twice. This fall, the prolific artist released Faith Is A Rock, his collaborative album with The Alchemist and Wiki. MIKE was also recently featured on two of the most celebrated hip-hop albums of the year with verses on Earl Sweatshirt & The Alchemist’s VOIR DIRE and Danny Brown’s Quaranta.
