— LA-based musician Arima Ederra returns to share two new songs, “Oh God” featuring Mereba and “Really Tired.”

Produced by frequent collaborator Teo Halm (SZA, Rosalía, Omar Apollo), these songs serve as an outlet of spiritual catharsis, written to encapsulate and release some of the pent-up emotions that have accumulated over years of tumultuous world events. Arima first previewed “Oh God” for audiences at select shows on her October tour run supporting Ravyn Lenae in which she played across North America including Webster Hall in New York and The Fonda Theatre in LA. “Oh God” and “Really Tired” set the stage for more new music to come from Arima in 2025.

This pair of songs marks the first offering of new solo music for Arima since her critically acclaimed debut album An Orange Colored Day, released in 2022. The album, which NPR described as “a weightless form of R&B that simmers in the ether like incense”, was honed over four years of work behind the scenes to find her voice. Interspersed with recorded phone voice memos of memories and personal moments, AOCD shifts between the blissful imagination and spirituality of youth, and the sharper realities endured in adulthood. Informed by Arima’s own experiences growing up as the daughter of an Ethiopian refugee father, the album is a personal journey through growing up.
