— The highly electric Guapdad 4000 kicks off his 2022 run with his latest track, “I Need Bands”, along with an eye-catching new music video.
The desire to get to a bag is nothing new for Guapdad 4000. Well-documented through his own music and viral social media accounts, the Oakland native has enjoyed quite a few luxuries through some illicit means. Still, even with his buzzing music career, coming off of a collaborative project with !llmind that Uproxx lists as one of the best albums of 2021, the young star is still about his paper — evident by his latest single, “I Need Bands”.
Inspired by LL Cool J’s classic single, “I Need Love” (known by many as Hip-Hop’s first love song), “I Need Bands” goes a slightly different direction. “I Need Bands”, produced by Link+Up, is an updated take on this classic slow jam that salutes Guap’s money-making mentality.
The visual, directed by Paul Middleton, follows Guapdad to Miami as he splurges on the finest designer fashion and enjoys the city’s world-renowned nightlife. Visually stimulating elements like tropical scenery, shiny watches, and beautiful women pair perfectly with Middleton’s creative editing and visual effects resulting in an undeniably sharp visual as Guapdad shines through it all.
