— Fly Anakin delivers his final advance single before the release of his debut album, Frank, titled, “Black Be The Source”.
Just last month Richmond-native, Fly Anakin, delivered an incredible Madlib-produced single by the name of “Dough” along with an exhilarating music video. Furthermore, the rising star announced the March 11th release date for his debut studio album, Frank. Now, he’s back with his latest single, “Black Be The Source”, along with another captivating visual.
On “Black Be The Source”, Anakin connects with frequent collaborator Pink Siifu and vocalist Billz Egypt for a deeply soulful track that highlights the often undervalued contributions of Black artistry, intelligence, and overall greatness as the blueprint for popular culture today.
“Black Be The Source” arrives alongside a Jabari Canada-directed visual that reflects on pivotal moments in Black history and celebrates Black culture and excellence. Fly Anakin, Pink Siifu, and Billz Egypt each take turns putting on stellar performances as they exude power, grace, and excellence in their delivery as Jabari stitched together a highly engaging and cinematic visual.
In support of the album’s release, Fly Anakin will set out on a brief run of UK tour dates, making appearances in Bristol, Leeds, London, and other cities before returning stateside. Once back in the US, Anakin will be on deck for a couple of festival performances at SXSW in Austin and Boise’s Treefort Festival in March alongside BbyMutha.
