— Bajan rapper Haleek Maul has partnered with DOOMSDAYX to create the first ever fan-produced music video for his latest single, “Verified”.

Following the global premiere of his standout track, “Verified”, and the in-person premiere event in LA earlier this week, Barbados-based artist Haleek Maul is back to release the first ever fan-produced music video for the track with the help of Web3 creative tech studio, DOOMSDAYX.

“Verified”, featuring fellow Bajan artist Chiief Diin, is a bold record that exudes power, confidence, and manifestation in a way that is contagious to its listeners. Both artists attack the dance-worthy production with engaging lyrics, an infectious flow, and the convincing belief that they are on the road to greatness and that all they have to do is walk the path.

Directed by Gregory Ohrel and produced by sister company Doomsday Entertainment, the triumphant visual is an ode to Haleek’s love for his home country and the people of Barbados. In fact, the completion of the “Verified” music video is a groundbreaking achievement as it became the largest music video production on Bajan soil in the country’s history.

With a flourishing film infrastructure on the rise in Barbados, the elite-level production brought to the island by Doomsday Entertainment gave aspiring Bajan filmmakers an opportunity to learn how the making and budgeting of large scale videos is executed. The budget was made possible by Haleek’s pioneering of music in the crypto space and brought to life by DOOMSDAYX via a 1025 piece NFT collection which raised over $640K, selling out in minutes.

Buyers of the NFT collection directly funded the music video and, in return, received a collectible producer credit, behind the scenes access, and perpetual governance stake over a treasury which will be used for future projects and activations.

Alongside the music video, Haleek has also announced that his INNER EP will be released on May 20th after breaking a sales record on the NFT marketplace, Catalog. The first four songs of the EP sold for a total of 56 ETH ($235,000 at time of sale).

With features from fellow Bajan artists Chiief Diin and Jah Koda, INNER is central to the next phase of Haleek’s career as a pioneer and advocate for Caribbean artists through his HOLDERSLAND initiative. The initiative aims to provide an infrastructure and resources for creatives to develop and promote their work.

The forthcoming project marks an important shift in Haleek’s career after first breaking through with his Oxyconteen EP at just 16 years old. Since then, he’s become a major Bajan voice in music over the last decade and had an industrious 2020 that included the release of his debut album ERROL along with a collaboration with Denzel Curry, Dua Saleh, Justin Vernon, and Andrew Broder of Fog on “Bloodrush” for the soundtrack of Alan Moore’s new film, The Show

“Verified” is now available widely on all streaming platforms after previously only being available via Catalog.
