Based out of Los Angeles, fast-rising newcomer JAHMED seems to be on a clear path to greatness. With roots in Pomona, Victorville, and Texas, the 24-year old rapper describes himself as “a student of Hip-Hop” and has picked up influences everywhere he’s gone resulting in his wildly unique style. With that being said, JAHMED has been met with overwhelmingly positive reviews and his latest collab with Freddie Gibbs will only add fuel to the fire.
“GLIMPSE”, co-produced by Dupri and Extendo, is built on the back of a hard-hitting beat that cannot be ignored. Although the production features a fairly simple melody, its simplicity creates the space necessary for the vocals to pop while the booming bass and snare combination do the rest of the talking.
To open up, JAHMED goes right into the hook with a boatload of energy before attacking the first verse with even more. Then, after smoking the first half of the song, JAHMED passes the beat off to Freddie Gibbs who proceeds to commit lyrical overkill.
