—  Brooklyn’s own MC and producer Chuck Strangers shares the latest new single from his forthcoming EP The Boys & Girls, with “Devin Hester.”

Chuck Strangers’ ominous new track, produced by Evidence, arrives on the heels of previously-released singles “Venison” featuring Navy Blue and “Prospect Park West,” all of which will be featured on his forthcoming EP out May 12th via Lex Records.

The Boys & Girls EP represents a culmination of years of work and self-reflection for Chuck, whose solo music has been years in the making amidst other collaborations like producing for legendary MC Roc Marciano and being featured on both of KA’s two 2022 albums. The project captures Chuck’s rediscovery of his love for rap music, and a celebration of the process of crafting a rap song alongside friends and peers like Obii, Navy Blue, Pink Siifu and Fly Anakin. Combining his growing lyrical prowess with a masterful production skillset, this project is a personal renaissance for Chuck as a fully-fledged artist.

In support of the project, Chuck Strangers will also set out on a headlining 7-date North American tour run this summer including shows in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Chicago, Seattle and more. Tickets are on sale now.

Devin Hester

Since he started making music, Chuck Strangers has played a pivotal role in other artists’ careers, first making a name for himself as one of the key sonic architects of Joey Bada$$’ classic 1999 mixtape and the overall arc of the Pro Era sound over the next several years as the collective rose to notoriety. All the while, Chuck was expanding his network and continuing to stay tapped into the underground with a consistent solo output. His 2018 debut album Consumers Park, comprised a heavy emphasis on raw, soulful vibes allowing Chuck to showcase his impressive rap skills while capturing the rising star’s ongoing journey from Flatbush to international hip-hop notoriety, which Pitchfork called “a dead-on recreation of old-fashioned sounds while still encapsulating one artist’s distinct personality.” The album was followed by his 2020 EP Too Afraid To Dance, released via his own label Sounds of Beverly, featuring fellow New Yorkers Ka, Navy Blue, and Caleb Giles in what DJ Booth praised as “his most confident and holistic project to date.”
