— Nashville-based producer, Josephfiend, rounds up MC’s Tim Gent, The Blackson, and Brian Brown for their new collab, “Juvenile”.
While Memphis, TN has gotten more than its fair share of attention is Hip-Hop (rightfully so), Nashville’s underground Hip-Hop scene is criminally underappreciated. In fact, we’ve stumbled across some talented artists ourselves, such as Dough and Brian Brown, and have featured them in articles and playlists. Now, thanks to Nashville’s own Josephfiend providing the beat and quarterbacking the play, we have a perfect display of top-tier artistry featuring, not one, but three lyricists from good ol’ “Cashville”.
Josephfiend wastes no time, opening “Juvenile” with a hauntingly infectious loop just before Tim Gent bodies his verse with an unorthodox, yet methodical flow. The BlackSon follows with an equally intense verse, including what may be one of the single hardest lines of 2020, “I shop Black business, nigga couldn’t ask me where the mall at.” Brian Brown then hops on the track and gets into a cadence so bouncy that it may urge you to start dancing while still spitting nothing but stone cold player shit.
All things considered, “Juvenile” is pure heat.
