— Florida rapper/singer, Zoediac, gets a few things off his chest in his concise new single, “Gametime (Freestyle)”.

It’s been over a year since we’ve gotten any new music from newcomer, Zoediac, but the Florida native is back with a bang. Following February 2020’s “Be For Real”, Zoediac is ready to turn it up a notch and does so with a heat check titled, “Gametime (freestyle)”.

Zoediac immediately set the tone for the entire track and got straight to the point with his opening line,

“I played the bench for too long, told the coach put me in

So when you see me shine, doin’ like we used to be friends

Keep that same energy you had way back when…”

Zoediac proceeds to express his feelings about some of his hardships — most notably his strong distaste for disloyal friends and flaky supporters. He goes as far as explaining how much ‘they’ love you when you’re up, but aren’t anywhere to be found when you’re down, also explaining that he’s not for the “sometimes love”. On the other hand, he does makes it known that his own loyalty need not be questioned stating that,

“If you starve with me, you should know that I got us.

Loyalty over love of the guala”

The production of “Gametime (freestyle)”, handled by acclaimed producer Lemonade Playboy, was a perfect fit for the song’s subject matter. One on end, the use of the piano in the intro as well as throughout the song made for an inspirational vibe that was necessary to convey. However, Lemonade Playboy’s addition of rhythmic percussion and bouncy melodic elements infused the track with the energy and life that made “Gametime (freestyle)” more motivational than depressing.
