— Atlanta-based Hip-Hop collective Coolassppl drop their new single, “Can’t Relate”, along with a visual following the release of their Hidden Gems EP.
Although based in Atlanta, GA, Coolassppl is an eclectic Hip-Hop group made up of unique artists from different parts of the southern and east coast regions of the US. Group members A. Heard, Jettison Bombardier, KaKaKaKaKaKaKatastrophe, Ju Fresh, Jabriel, Easy Ell, and Reloris all bring something wildly different to the table, making them highly innovative and prolific at the same time. Now, following the August release of their 5-track EP, Hidden Gems, the collective has delivered another banger with their latest single, “Can’t Relate”, along with a new music video.
“Can’t Relate”, produced by Danny Couture and Coolassppl themselves, features group members A. Heard, Jettison Bombardier, Jabriel, and KaKaKaKaKaKaKatastrophe. The production of the track is vibrant to say the least as it invites the listener to dance along to the boastful, yet powerful, message in the chorus — “We just hittin’ different, we just get it different, when they mention quittin’ I just can’t, I just can’t relate to that.” Each artist proceeded to deliver excellent verses — each deploying their talents in distinctively different ways — making for an extremely entertaining song.
The music video, while simple in concept, does a great job of captivating the viewers just as the song itself does. The setting never changes as the four featured artists perform their verses from a single shot angle while sitting on a living room sofa. However, the self-shot and self-edited visual keeps it fresh and exciting with clever edits as well as jovial energy and contrasting individualism amongst the artists.
