— Cantrell pays homage to Outkast with a freestyle over their classic ATLiens instrumental and a visual shot at the legendary Stankonia Studios.
Hailing from South Georgia, rapper Cantrell has been steadily on the rise since making his emphatic emergence in 2018 with his debut project, Stardust 2 Angels. Now, with four projects under his belt, including 2021’s Beware the Sheep Clothing EP, Cantrell continues his meteoric rise with the release of a brand new loosie inspired by none other than Atlanta’s own, Outkast.
“ATLiens”, originally produced by Outkast themselves, is a Hip-Hop classic to say the least and Cantrell was sure to do it justice. In one sweep, Cantrell delivered a nonstop lyrical onslaught that let his competition know that they aren’t worthy while also dropping a few gems and flatout entertaining any lover of top-tier lyricism.
Cantrell further displayed his respect for, not only the craft of Hip- Hop, but also its history by filming the UV Lifestyle-shot music video in Stankonia Studios — an Atlanta-based studio owned by Outkast since 1998.
