— Virginia-native, Khalif Bryant, releases a brand new song titled, “Party”, as well as a fascinating new visual to match.

Hip-Hop artist, Khalif Bryant, may very well be one of the more talented and unique artists on Virginia Beach’s underground scene. Using a special concoction of traditional R&B elements, catchy lyrics, and heartfelt delivery, Bryant has been able to turn quite a few heads since releasing his very first track in 2017. Now, since releasing his Welcome Home Leafy EP back in May, Khalif Bryant has had a steady run of live performances while cranking out eye-catching visual content — the latest being a music video for his latest loosie, “Party”.

“Party” carries a somber mood, led by a slow and lazy trumpet melody and an equally slothful drum pattern. Khalif Bryant compliments this mood as he comes in crooning lines from Lesley Gore’s classic single, “It’s My Party”, effectively setting the tone for the rest of the song.

Khalif Bryant proceeds to express his feelings of overall despair and emptiness since his lady left him. Coping in every way from drugs to new women, Bryant found himself in a place many of us can relate to as he attempts to make sense of his own thoughts.

The music video, shot by Colores Media, was a brilliant depiction of what “Party” entails. Khalif Bryant, at his own birthday party, finds himself dissociating from the friends that surround him and instead retreats to his own mind. Creative use of angles and editing, along with Bryant’s stellar performance, give off an unshakeable feeling of loneliness making “Party” a captivating watch from start to finish.
