— Atlanta rapper T. Mason gets a few things off his chest with his appropriately titled new single, “Song Cry”.
With T. Mason being one of Atlanta’s more talented underground acts, we’re happy to see his lengthy hiatus come to an end. Although he isn’t one to flood the market — seemingly electing to craft well thought out works of art instead — the year and a half wait since his “Lord Knows” single has been tough for his fans to endure. However, like many of us, T. Mason has been through a lot in the past 18 months, as we learn in his latest single, “Song Cry”.
Backed by unbelievably soulful production that you feel before you even hear, the stage was set for “Song Cry” to become something spectacular. Starting off with a heartfelt violin melody coupled with a leisurely, yet profound, drum pattern, T. Mason entered the picture and gave the song even more life.
Mason’s opening line, “If I die tomorrow, I’ll leave with no regrets”, sets a powerful tone for a song with so much emotional gravity. Though he makes mention of a few dark moments in his life, T. Mason makes even more mention of his persevering spirit and uplifting attitude. Hardships may arise, but working tirelessly to love yourself and those around you while also working to improve your and their lives will leave you with no regrets, no matter the outcome.
