— Reading-based Hip-Hop collective, OSP, make their official debut with the release of their debut single, “Breathe”.
Hailing from a historic town across the pond in Berkshire, England, Hip-Hop group OSP was formed back in 2014. Comprised of Esa Kwame (rapper, beat maker), J Blackz (rapper, singer-songwriter, beat maker), Silqe (rapper, beat maker), and Subject (producer, engineer), OSP has always strived to become a positive force within the UK’s hip-hop community. Originally standing for ‘Only Speak Positive’, the quartet earned their mantra through a series of bold and vibrant cuts that looked to deliver a powerful message of tolerance and respect through their work. Now, with some experience under their belt, OSP has finally delivered their debut single, “Breathe”.
Production-wise, “Breathe” takes cues from Hip-Hop’s traditional elements while also dripping in contemporary influences making it a fresh and exciting introduction to OSP’s progressive direction. Supported by the bold and emphatic production, each artist stepped up to the plate and performed stellar verses loaded with catchy flows, gripping subject matter, and dynamic delivery from start to finish.
When discussing the track, OSP has described “Breathe” as “addressing the struggle of navigating life in an ever-changing environment.”
So far, it’s looking like 2022 is primed to become OSP’s most prolific year to date. With a number of new releases set to arrive in the coming months, their vision of a more diverse direction within the mainstream Hip-Hop scene is finally coming to fruition as they position themselves right at the center of this special movement.
