— Compton’s own, Buddy, delivers his official sophomore album, Superghetto, along with a new music video for the track, “Hoochie Mama”.
West Coast prodigy, Buddy, had us on the edge of our seats when he released “Wait Too Long” featuring Blxst and announced his forthcoming project. The song and accompanying music video were both undeniable hits and for those of us who have been waiting for a full-length project from Buddy, the announcement was incredible news. Now, almost four years since his debut album, Harlan & Alondra, Buddy is finally back with his latest project, Superghetto.
The 10-track project arrives by way of Cool Lil Company/RCA Records alongside a new visual for the opening track, “Hoochie Mama”. Along with the aforementioned feature with R&B artist, Blxst, Superghetto also features singers Tinashe, Ari Lennox, and T-Pain.
Buddy continues to expand his uniquely eclectic sound on Superghetto by using his unique upbringing, experiences, and influences to unlock an entirely new array of moods as expansive as Los Angeles itself. Furthermore, despite having a runtime just over 30 minutes, Buddy is able to take listeners on quite a ride which further showcases his ability to create deeply impactful music in a multitude of ways.
In support of the album, Buddy performed “Wait To Long” alongside Blxst on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon this past Monday.
