— Promising young producers, Cisco Swank and Luke Titus, team up to release their joint project, Some Things Take Time.
Cisco Swank and Luke Titus are two of the more innovative producers on the rise in both Hip-Hop and Jazz despite making names for themselves in their respective circles. While both artists create with a multi-instrumental, genre-bending approach, Swank — a staple in the New York scene — has worked with acts like Brasstracks, Maurice Brown, Kenneth Whalum, Malaya, Julius Rodriguez, and CARRTOONS, while Titus — a Chicago native — has worked with artists like Noname, Ravyn Lenae, and KAINA. Now, the two have come together for their latest release — their collaborative album, Some Things Take Time.
One-half beat tape, one-half jazz session, the album takes you on an incredible ride as it seamlessly incorporates traditional components with more experimental and futuristic elements — in both genres. The 11-track project is glued together by caffeinated off-kilter beats, heavenly chord progressions, classic boombap motifs, and an assortment of sonically sound, one of a kind flashes of brilliance.
The album also includes features from rappers and vocalists Saba, femdot., Braxton Cook, Malaya, and Phoelix.
For the crate diggers, Hip-Hop heads, sample lords, and jazz purists alike, Some Things Take Time, is nothing short of a masterpiece well worth your listen.
