— Quintin Tyevon prepares for his upcoming EP, The Late Bloomer, with the release of his latest single, “Gone in 60 Seconds”.
Following the release of his January single, “Goin’ Live”, Quintin Tyevon (formerly known as Quintin Tarantinto) has been back in the lab. Aside from a few Instagram appearances and live shows, including one in Atlanta this past month. Now, lucky for us, the Tallahassee-product has served us some new music ahead of his next project.
The new single, “Gone in 60 Seconds”, details a traumatic experience Quintin faced in which he was arrested as a youngster. Enduring everything from the embarrassment of being apprehended in front of his peers to the demoralizing experience of being processed, booked, and held in a cold metal cage with nothing but your own thoughts — Quintin walked us through this harrowing story in incredibly vivid detail that is sure to captivate any listener. Still, despite Quintin telling such a disheartening story, he was able to turn the dark tone into an inspirational message by the song’s end.
Courtesy of producer Ten Chi, “Gone in 60 Seconds” features incredible production that perfectly sets the song’s mood before Quintin Tyevon says a word. With a classic bass drum and rimshot cadence coupled with a somber melody and well-placed police-related noises, Quintin’s lyrics, flow, and delivery make this track an undeniably potent piece.
The second single from The Late Bloomer EP titled, “Mea Culpa”, will be released this Tuesday and is currently available for pre-save here.
The Late Bloomer EP is set to arrive on June 21st.
