— Atlanta royalty, Killer Mike, delivers his first solo track in 10 years with a feature from Young Thug and a monologue from Dave Chappelle in its music video.
Killer Mike is nothing short of a legend in more ways than one. From his long career as a thought provoking Hip-Hop artist to his important work in Atlanta’s community and the Black community as a whole, Killer Mike has made a crater-sized dent in both Hip-Hop and the world. Now, following his May 2022 collab with Ace Hood, he’s back with “RUN” — a powerful new single featuring fellow ATLien Young Thug.
As Killer Mike’s first solo release since his 2012 breakout album, R.A.P. Music, “RUN” and its accompanying music video reframes American history in a way that includes Black history as a part of the nation’s story. The song, produced by renowned producer NO I.D., arrives alongside a stunning visual that portrays the fight for freedom in a captivating, visceral context, augmented by an intro monologue from Dave Chappelle
Directed by Adrian Villagomez, the “RUN” music video represents the dynamic between the just and the tyrannical. Black people and allied people alike are up in arms as they rise against Nazi-esque secessionists that want to take the country back into the confederacy.
