— Detroit rapper Vito Lays proves to be the hottest on the scene with his emphatic single, “Tell The Truth” and equally captivating visuals.
Vito Lays — underground rapper and native of Detroit’s historic 7 Mile Road — has something special brewing up in the midwest. Already a well-respected ghostwriter, Vito Lays has shown that his pen is nothing to play with. Even with just one official album and a few singles in his discography, this prolific writer is already displaying the qualities of a star in the making. For proof, look no further than his single “Tell The Truth” and its eye-catching music video.
Coming in with an updated take on the classic instrumental from 50 Cent’s 2002 hit-single, “Wanksta” — courtesy of producer TNB Beatz — “Tell The Truth” immediately starts off with a bang. Channeling the spirit of 2002 50 Cent and matching the energy of the high-octane production, Vito Lays gets in his bag and never lets up. Bar after bar, Vito smoothly goes from calling out his competition (or lack thereof) to dropping priceless street gems to vividly authenticating his own resumé in one masterful sweep of lyrical supremacy.
The music video, directed by Osirus Johnson, perfectly complements the single. Shot throughout his hood alongside a few of his comrades and some shapely eye candy, Vito performs the single with unrelenting fervor. To throw some icing on the cake, the music video also features some incredibly creative edits that undeniably makes it a must-watch.
