— Rapper Michael Aristotle drops the “SAFEPLACE” music video from his latest album, DEKALB, released earlier this year.
Since the release of Michael Aristotle’s acclaimed homecoming album DEKALB this past summer, his loyal fans have been patiently waiting for complimentary visuals. Well, we finally got one and it doesn’t disappoint as Michael Aristotle shares the official music video for “SAFEPLACE.”
“SAFEPLACE,” which features additional vocals from Atlanta songstress Sauvi DuVin, highlights the unmatched and irreplaceable intimacy and peace one feels in the presence of someone who makes them feel “safe.”
The music video, which depicts Michael Aristotle and his apparent love interest in a series of intimate embraces, masterfully evokes the emotions expressed in the song itself. Shot and directed by Jabari Jenkins and Dezmen Alexander, the visual is fiercely enthralling despite its limited locations and cast. Immaculate use of color and lighting along with creative editing and expert framing and composition make this visual a masterpiece suitable for the big screen.
Unfortunately, the music video only covers the first 84 seconds of “SAFEPLACE” instead of the entire three and a half minutes of the original song. However, with that being said, we can rest assured that Michael Aristotle has more visuals on the way.
