— Last week, Atlanta’s own Lil Baby brought the entire city out for his Lil Baby & Friends concert at State Farm Arena along with some incredible special guests.
It goes without saying that Lil Baby is one of Atlanta’s most valued artists, entrepreneurs, and public figures as a whole. Since rising to prominence in 2017, the young superstar has delivered classic projects and timeless moments for hip-hop culture while unapologetically repping his hometown every step of the way. In return, the city of Atlanta shows up for Lil Baby at any given chance — a fact that was unequivocally proven during his 4th annual Lil Baby & Friends concert at State Farm Arena.
Last Thursday, following Christmas Day and just a few days before the New Year, all attention was on State Farm Arena as attendees flooded in for the sold out concert. Fans and supporters of all ages, from pre-teens to seniors, brought an energy and enthusiasm to the building that couldn’t be duplicated.
After getting the crowd warmed up with an assortment of hits and Atlanta classics, fellow QC artist and rising star Gloss Up hit the stage prior to Lil Baby’s set. Accompanied by two dancers, the Memphis-bred rapper put on an exciting performance including feisty raps, energetic dance moves, and commanding stage presence.
Following Gloss Up was none other than the man of the hour himself, Lil Baby. Seemingly appearing from nowhere, Lil Baby emerged onto the stage wearing a vibrant red fit alongside a troupe of captivating dancers. Performing fan favorites like “Pure Cocaine,” “Low Down,” and “Emotionally Scarred,” the hometown hero had the entire arena erupting in cheers even before bringing out an insane lineup of guests such as Lil Durk, Yung Miami, Quavo, 42 Dugg, 21 Savage, Jacquees, 2 Chainz, Veeze, and even J. Cole.
From start to finish, the show was a truly unforgettable experience, especially considering the amount of top tier guests Lil Baby brought out.
All in all, another year, another stellar Lil Baby & Friends concert. With talks of a new Lil Baby album on the way, next year’s show is bound to be something special.
