— This past October, Atlanta’s R&B fans got quite the treat when singers Blxst and Leon Thomas performed live at the Tabernacle during Blxst’s I’ll Always Come Find You Tour.
While many may feel that R&B has taken a backseat to other genres over the past decade, real R&B fans know that there are still tons of incredible acts on the scene. Two of these very acts are the ultra-talented Leon Thomas and the silky smooth Blxst — both of which graced the stage at Atlanta’s legendary Tabernacle concert venue just a few weeks back.
To open up the show, multifaceted artist Leon Thomas came out to a raucous crowd who seemingly were there to see him specifically or were at least familiar with his work. Either way, Leon Thomas was greeted in a manner that was quite unusual for an opening act, and rightfully so as Leon matched that energy with an unforgettable performance. Performing songs from his recently released acclaimed album, MUTT, the Brooklyn native had the crowd in the palm of his hand as he soulfully serenaded those in attendance while showing off his impressive skills on the guitar.
Next up, Los Angeles’s own Blxst hit the stage rocking a Evgle & Son Chauffeur Car Service uniform, referencing track 2 of his debut album, I’ll Always Come Find You. Additionally, the ‘mechanic shop-style’ stage design made further reference to this track and added to the already stellar visual elements of the show. Blxst proceeds to perform a number of hits from his aforementioned album while also performing some of his fan-favorites such as “Chosen,” “Overrated,” and “Peru (Remix).” When all was said and done, Blxst’s concert outing was beyond reproach as the South Central songster delivered a famously flawless performance.
