— Nasaan delivers “UNDERRATED” freestyle following the release of his joint project with fellow Detroit rapper, Young Roc, this past summer.
As a Detroit native and son of rapper Proof (D12 member and Detroit Hip-Hop legend), up-and-coming artist Nasaan has Hip-Hop culture and excellence coursing through his veins. Still, he hasn’t let that stop him from putting in the work necessary to perfect his skills and carve his own path — a decision that has worked in his favor, having a few critically acclaimed projects and songs already under his belt. Now, after dropping his last two singles, “FLIP” and “BUSY”, with the help of rappers Valee and SwaVay, he’s gifted us with a new freestyle titled, “UNDERRATED”, along with a new visual.
For just under 2-minutes, Nasaan unleashed a lyrical onslaught that goes unmatched by most. Beyond his wordplay and delivery, Nasaan casually bared his soul as he spoke on betrayal, loss, love, doubt, and unrelenting persistence — things we all can relate to.
“UNDERRATED” is so perfectly tiled because that is exactly what Nasaan is. However, his desire to break through on his own accord, despite his industry ties, makes him that much more appealing. Nonetheless, his hunger and frustration with his lack of recognition will only make him better and, for those of us paying attention, that is a treat within itself.
