— Rising Hip-Hop phenom, Wynne, drops a sequel to a 2017 record with her latest single, “CATALYST II,” alongside a new music video.
With her first release of the new year, Lake Oswego native and Hip-Hop prodigy Wynne releases “CATALYST II” — the highly-anticipated sequel to her 2017 breakout record “CVTVLYST.”
The new record boasts six-minutes of bars as Wynne asserts herself as one of rap’s most masterful lyricists. Maintaining her unwavering bravado throughout the track, she broaches topics ranging from outworking her peers to her heart-wrenching story of “hitting a wall” during the pandemic.
“The Catalyst series is my way of mentally preparing myself for the calls I make about my life changing being answered. The first one put me on the map and built me a fanbase, I’m excited to see what the sequel does for me. ” — Wynne
Courtesy of Toronto-based producer Felix Leone and musician Treonthetrack, “CATALYST II” features a cinematic, synth-driven production laced with powerful 808s and modern drums.
The music video — shot by Riley Brown featuring camcorder footage captured by Anika Putney — includes a skit co-starring Wynne’s long-time business partner, Itay Lerner, as well as Courtside Reporter for the Portland Trailblazers Brooke Olzendam. The skit serves as an announcement for the launch of Wynne and Itay’s new label/agency, 101, which directed and produced this video.
“CATALYST II” caps off Wynne’s prolific 2022 following an impressive run of 9 independently released singles and garnering attention from some of Hip-Hop’s most prominent.
