— As he gears up to release his sophomore album, OPEN, Lunice shares his latest single from the project, “Last Time,” featuring Zach Zoya.

Canadian producer Lunice drops “Last Time” ft. Zach Zoya — the second single from Lunice’s forthcoming sophomore album OPEN. The track features upcoming Montreal rapper Zach Zoya who brings a nostalgia-hued breezy vocal to the song, perfectly complimenting one of the most playful Lunice beats he’s ever released.

In the music video, Lunice once again joins forces with director Cameron Morse for a fun breezy promo video featuring Zach and Lunice fishing in Montreal.

Speaking on the creation of the single, Lunice stated:

“I met Zach Zoya through my collaboration with Miko & Yuki Dreams Again. They’re all an inspiring group of young creatives with outstanding emotional insight in their artistic expressions. I sent the beat to Zach and he immediately sent back vocals after just one take. It was one of those ‘lightning in a bottle’ moments that fascinates me to this day.”

Already a live favorite with the pair jumping on stage at each other’s shows to perform the track at every opportunity, “Last Time” has proven to be an infectious hit.

Growing up in the small, largely French-speaking city of Rouyn-Noranda northwest of Montreal, Zoya was introduced to African music by his South African father — who fled to Canada during Apartheid — and North American soul and pop music by his French-Canadian mother. Like Lunice who is of Haitian descent they grew up immersed in rhythms and melodies that spoke to them even when the English lyrics didn’t.
