— In honor of Black History Month, Atlanta rapper Miles Stone releases a heavy new visual for his late 2020 single, “Blackman”.

Due to a global pandemic 2020 was a tough year around the world, but in America racial tensions made it especially difficult. With so many people suffering, the continued brutality against Black bodies became a major topic of discussion. So much so, artists like Miles Stone stepped up and delivered content that furthered the conversation. Now, with a brand new “Blackman” music video, Miles Stone is determined to keep that conversation going.

The music video, directed by Dry Rice Films, opens with images of bloodied Black slaves in chains just before cutting to a scene of Miles Stone himself being whipped by a slave master. You later see the slaves  attempting to escape at night as the slave master searches for them. However, in the end, the fugitives earn their freedom by force and bravely look forward to the uncertainty that lies ahead.

With the “Blackman” visual, Miles Stone not only captures what we all know as America’s ugly origins, but also a depiction of what many people feel Black Americans still go through today — even if figuratively
