— Scotty ATL further cements his status as a true Atlanta legend with the release of his 16th official project, Trappin’ Gold. Since entering the game around 2011, Scotty ATL has been an Atlanta staple as he’s continued to create classic music and moments despite his unwavering loyalty to his roots. As one of the few homegrown talents that consistently tap into a nostalgic southern flavor that is too often forgotten, Scotty ATL has been vital in keeping a part of our culture alive. Not to mention, Grillz by Scotty (Scotty ATL’s highly successful grill shop), is a cultural landmark within itself — one that likely inspired his newest album, Trappin’ Gold. Trappin’ Gold, the 16th project in Scotty ATL’s prolific catalogue, did a great job of encapsulating his journey thus far. For starters, Trappin Gold is littered with the advice and words of encouragement that one would assume led Scotty ATL to this very point on songs like “7 Days a Week”, “The Shop”, “Devotion”, “Fold Dat Sack”, and “F.A.F.” featuring the late great Bankroll Fresh. Furthermore, Scotty ATL recruited his mentor and hip-hop legend, David Banner, to record the intro track “Leave a MESSAGE”. He also reached out to fellow southern heroes Bun B and Ace Hood for his first 2 lead singles, “Hol’ It Down” and “Own Lane” while calling on B.o.B, one of his earliest collaborators, for “Fold Dat Sack”. Although Trappin’ Gold is a very cohesive album, the production was handled by a large and talented cast. Tasha Catour and 8 Track carried the largest loads on the album producing 3 and 2 tracks respectively while Chefry Kitchen, DT That Kidd, B.o.B, DJ Luke Nasty, PL12 Tha Mistro, Cory Mo, Shroom, and Honorable C Note each produced one record.
