— Blavity House Party features headlining performances from Lil Wayne and Monica, plus a series of cross-generational stars including Victoria Monet, Dru Hill, & Blxst along with hosts like Zack Fox and dozens of performers and vendors from Nashville’s unsung, but vibrant Black community.
Everybody knows the classic ingredients of a great house party. A great house party foments conversation and free-flowing laughter. A great house party features quality food and an abundance of drink. A great house party is a place where you are free to be yourself, free from prying iPhone cameras. Most importantly of all, a bumpin’ house party features great music, whether the host ponied up for a DJ or enlisted their friend on the aux.
Making its debut at Nashville Municipal Auditorium on June 14-15th, 2024, Blavity House Party encompasses all these crucial house party elements and blows it up to festival scale. The result is an event that is both intimate and grand: a celebration of Black joy in the Music City, balancing can’t miss onstage moments with the small gestures that turn a group of strangers into a community.
The first festival presented by Blavity Media Group, the two-day, multi-stage House Party features a cross-generational array of talented performers, who have defined the sound of hip-hop and R&B for the past three decades. The headliners are heavy-hitting: Lil Wayne brings his bottomless bag of hits, spanning his dozens of albums and mixtapes, while proud southerner Monica offers her golden pipes during the festival’s second night (you know she never gets down on “The First Night”). Beyond the headliners is an excellent undercard, featuring the GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Victoria Monét, West Coast tunesmith Blxst, Baltimore’s favorite R&B group Dru Hill, acclaimed artist/producer Ryan Leslie, dancehall queen Shenseea, amapiano diva Uncle Waffles, rising R&B heartthrob Leon Thomas, Philly’s own Freeway, and the one and only Big Freedia. Beyond the performing artists, Blavity curates a collection of tastemaking DJs to keep the house party going, with help from hosts Zack Fox, Bridget Kelly, and Mani Millss.
The diverse lineup is only a small part of what Blavity House Party has to offer. The event shines a spotlight on Nashville’s vibrant Black community, bringing a complement of local vendors and restaurants, including neighborhood fave pizza & wings joint Slim & Husky’s and local tastemakers Nash Feels, who specialize in showcasing Nashville’s Black community and cowboy culture. Before and after the two-day festival, Blavity connects with local partners to present a club night, a comedy show, a brunch, a fitparty, and more. Keep an eye on Blavity House Party’s official website for more details.
Stay tuned for more news and announcements about the one-of-a-kind community celebration as it approaches. The first-ever Blavity House Party takes over Nashville Municipal Auditorium from June 14th-15th, 2024.
