— 1st & 15th founder, Lupe Fiasco, and label signee, Verse, officially release their singles from the Undisputed video game soundtrack on DSPs.
Back in October, Grammy award-winning, rapper, songwriter, and producer, Lupe Fiasco, lent his pen to create an exclusive track for the highly anticipated boxing video game Undisputed.
“Pound For Pound” officially drops on all DSPs and now fans and gamers can add the high-energy track to their own workout playlists. “Pound For Pound” dips into a rock and roll, hip-hop fusion with electrifying guitar riffs, booming percussions, and orchestral strings. In the single, Lupe seamlessly wades in and out of lyrical storytelling that highlights the relentless spirit of a winner. “Pound For Pound” marks the first new song by Lupe Fiasco since the release of Samurai, his critically acclaimed eighth studio album.
In addition to Lupe’s “Pound For Pound,” 1st & 15th signee Verse is also featured on the Undisputed soundtrack roster with his cut “Everything You Fear.” The Chicago native created a melodic and inspirational single that wades into alt hip-hop territory with keyboard-heavy melodies, soft-thumping percussion that resembles a heated heartbeat, and a thrilling guitar riff to close the track. It’ll be hard to lose against an opponent with lyrics like “I’m aggression, I’m a lesson that I’m teaching like a school. I’m a weapon of deception that I’m really about to use,” hyping up the energy.
The soundtrack for Undisputed is a hard-hitting mix of US hip-hop and UK rap and features some of the biggest names in the industry. It combines an edgy mix of heavy beats, deep bass, and commanding vocals, perfect for capturing the energy and intensity of the ring. In addition to Lupe’s track, fans can expect a star-studded lineup of tunes from other top-tier artists, such as award-winning grime artist, Bugzy Malone, multi-talented musician and MC, Murkz, and Lupe’s own 1st & 15th signee Verse.
